Melissa Minka does not design clothes that disappear into the body — she designs clothes that argue with it. For her 2024 Berlin show, the silhouettes carried text as confession, masks as anonymity, and fabric that turned the body into both armour and offering. Shot from inside the show, the images do not document the runway so much as inhabit its theatre — the blue-lit skin, the bared chests beneath couture cloaks, the jewelled hands pressed against silk. This is maximalism with a wound in it. Romantic, yes — but the kind of romance that makes you look twice before you understand why.
